Figures released today show that a record number of people are in work. 31.4 million people are now in work which is up by 521,000 over the past year and up by over 2.3 million since 2010. The figures also show that unemployment and youth unemployment are reaching near 10-year lows. Unemployment is at 5.1% which is down by 0.6% over the past year and down 2.8% since 2010.

This evidence shows the success of the Government’s long term economic plan and that the Conservatives are the best party to deliver economic security against the risks affecting the world.

With the number of workless households at its lowest ever, our economic and welfare reforms are delivering more security and providing opportunity that give families the best chance in life.
