Bexley’s three Conservative Association Chairmen met recently (see attached photograph) to celebrate an influx of over one hundred and fifty new members having joined the Party since June.

All three of Bexley’s Conservative Associations are reporting gaining significant numbers of new members following both the referendum and the successful campaign in the St. Michael’s Ward by-election.

Simon Windle, Chairman of the Bexleyheath & Crayford Association, said “Although each Association operates independently I know from discussing the surge with the other two Associations that the number of new members within the borough had now exceeded 150”.

Cllr John Davey of Erith & Thamesmead Association welcomed all those who had joined and was particularly pleased that “these were all people who had made the effort to seek out the Party’s website and join online rather than waiting for a canvasser to call.”

Cllr Rob Leitch speaking on behalf of Old Bexley & Sidcup Association, said  ”All our new members are being contacted either by post or email and plans were being prepared to invite them all to a welcome reception centrally in the borough.

The Conservative Party annual membership subscription is £25.00, although members of the Armed Forces can join for £15.00 and those under 23 for £5.00 whilst all those under 30 are automatically a member of Conservative Future, the youth wing of the Party.
